Fall Fashion: From the Runway to your Closet

“Autumn is a second spring, when every leaf is a flower.”  –Albert Camus

Fall fashion calls for an elevated sense of style. It is the season where it’s not too cold to still look cute and just cold enough where you can pull off a coat – where accessories are no longer just earrings, but we also get to accessorize with hats, gloves, coats and boots.

There’s no need to wait any longer, because fall has officially arrived with runway kickoffs at New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. This season in particular, you will notice the revival of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. This week, I’ve gathered a few suggestions for must-haves in your closet:

Transitional Coats:

These will be the staple piece of any fall outfit. They are a perfect fabric weight to wear when the temperature starts to dip. They keep you warm without you having to carry a heavy winter coat around.

Velvet:

Velvet made its return this season, and it’s been all over the runways. You can wear it from head to toe, or pair it with your favorite top or bottom. Honestly, you can do no wrong with this trend.

Satin:

Satin is also a classic look of the 90s and not too far behind as one of my favorite trends. The effortless look that you can accomplish with satin is truly timeless. Be assured that the slip dress will no longer be used only for bedtime, but for making a splash at holiday parties as well.

Boots:

Nothing makes fall more official than slipping on some boots. Over-the-knee boots are the must-have in your closet this season. Whether you want to splurge or be more conservative, you must own a pair. Over-the-knee boots come in such a variety of colors and styles that there is something for everyone out there. These boots were not only made for walking, but they were made for show stopping.

It can be said that if you love fashion, you love all seasons. The ability to change our fashion with the season is a fashionistas way of self-expression. It’s the way we get to tell our story thorough clothes, and showcase our ever-evolving style with the seasons.
