Scroll through your Instagram – another wedding picture is posted. Open your cell phone – another message from your friend about the amazing man she met. Browse through your Facebook feed – another engagement album, baby announcement, or relationship status is updated.

Sometimes when you see the pics of all the happy couples or friends entering in the next phase of life – and you happen to be single – you can’t help but wonder when love will finally come your way.

Moreover, you wonder if you’ll ever meet the one, and then the insecurities kick in. You start to think that something might be wrong with you.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Your 20’s are made for growing into independence, self-discovery, having fun, and exploring this amazing thing called ‘life’. Sure, it’d be great to enjoy it with a partner and then claim the ‘perfect life’; but it’s all just as attainable as a single gal.

The most important thing a single lady can do is simply do everything that makes her happy. Thinking about learning French? Do it. Join the scrapbooking club? Where is the sign up list – do it! Learn about sea turtles? Why not?

And when a new guy does finally step into your life – you get to know him and discover what you like and don’t like.

Author of Dating the Wrong Men, Kelly Rossi said, “If something is holding you back, even if you don’t know what it is, it’s valid.”

Timing, fear, or lack of attraction – these are just some of the common deal breakers.

“It may also be something you can’t pinpoint but ten years later you will realize the person had some tick that you could never have lived with,” she continued.

At the moment it may seem disappointing because you haven’t met your dream partner; but the road to him may be the best part of it all.

“You can go anywhere, anytime, with anyone you want and do whatever you want,” she explained. “You will develop friendships and memories that will last a lifetime and gain wisdom that a person who married the person who married the first person they kissed lacks.”

It all sounds exciting – and it can be too! Sure, there will a time where you’ll wish you had someone to share special memories with, but one day you’ll meet that one special person who will make you realize the lessons you learned as a single gal made you who you are today – and that makes it all worth it.
